Client Relationships & Business Development
Rather than publish particular client names, our work with FDI projects occasionally begins with an FDI client even before the client investment is announced. During this pre-announcement phase a project may be working with an engineering firm scoping its plans for location and for premises, often involving a new build. Support may well be sought in the lead up to the FDI investment announcement and for stakeholder plans and consultation support around any planning application that may be required.
Typically, the active stage for communications consultation parallels the preparation for and the planning application and approvals process. We often find ourselves involved with the project team in communicating an understanding of the project in its site location and in building positive neighbour relationship. Once planning approval is secured, the brief typically evolves into supporting good neighbour relationship during the build and commissioning programme during which there typically is need for project communication as a project begins the recruitment process.
Project establishment briefs have a relatively brief life-span but over the years we find that once we work with an FDI client, that there are occasional further projects, from small routine possibly CSR related to occasional big, expansion, recruitment, environmental or related briefs.
Through the eco-system we have built for the continuing development of our business most of our work comes from referral. Briefs typically comes from clients, and people who have moved on to work with others, as well as from legal, engineering, planning, environmental and others who recognise the benefit that experienced good local communication skills can bring to a project.
